fly in the ointment
4 songs
released 1995 on wedge records

"fly in the ointment" was released just as afi's popularity was increasing. the first 50 pressed were on black vinyl with white labels. about twelve of these were distributed to clubs by kevin wickersham ( then of swingin' utters, now in the workin' stiffs ) to set up dates for the afi / swingin utters tour. these promotional copies had afi's logo imprinted on the labels, one side was blue and the other was red. on the back covers the song titles were colored in to correspond with the color of the labels. out of these promo copies only one is still known to be in existence. this lone copy is believed ( by geoff ) to be owned by adam carson.

the first 1000 were printed on glow in the dark, pale green vinyl. many people believe it to be only 250, however this is untrue. the labels came in two colors. some are bright yellow and some were a brownish, gold yellow. hardly any records had matching colored labels on both sides. if you have a copy with bright yellow labels on either side, consider yourself lucky, it's very hard to come by.

the tracks are as follows :

theory of revolution
crop tub
cruise control
open your eyes ( circus tents cover )

this version of "open your eyes" is an earlier version of what appeared on "answer that...". this version has davey trading vocals with matt wedgley ( circus tents, force ) . after the initial pressing another 1000 copies were printed. these were on yellow-orange vinyl, however the cover stayed the same.
