eddie
picnic's all wet
5 songs
released march 18,
1994 on key lime pie
records
this was afi's "reunion"
(more
about the breakup
here) show at
the phoenix theatre
in petaluma. it was
recorded around the
time of christmas
break at the end of
1993. the first 200
copies were on pink
vinyl.
they were not originally
intended to be pink.
this was as a result
of a botched attempt
at making the records
look like a red and
white, swirled peppermint.
each of the pink copies
were hand numbered
by geoff, dave and
some friends before
the bands first "real"
show. they were released
later on at that show.
this first real show
took place at 924
gilman, were they
played with rancid.
an interesting fact
about the pressing
plates for "eddie...":
when they were returned
to the band an additional
copy was stuck in
between the plates.
that became number
201 out of 200. the
whereabouts of this
record are unkown,
but it's still interesting
to know.
"eddie..."
was re-released shortly
after. this time 100
were pressed in black
vinyl. and the words
"limited edition",
which appeared on
the back of the original
cover, were masked
by a white strip.
interestingly enough,
due to the limited
number in which the
record was repressed,
the reissue is more
rare than the original!
